Fly Lounge Review: Mile high club meets DC

Fly Lounge
1802 Jefferson Place NW
When it comes to nightlife, Washington DC doesn’t enjoy the best reputation. Let’s face it, you’ll never find MTV or VH1 at Front Page in Dupont circle. But in a city full of pubs, dive bars and saloons, a few pillars are slowly improving the city’s nightlight reputation. And Fly Lounge is one of the strongest.
Fly lounge is the kind of place you don’t expect to find in Washington DC. Reminiscent of a swanky Vegas lounge, Fly attracts some of the cities most elite partiers. The brainchild of a seasoned club promoter and a local DJ, Fly offers its patrons a first class club experience- down to the peanut packets at every table. The small space, velvet ropes, and the fashionably cold, if not a tad too dismissive, bartenders and waitresses reinforce the atmosphere of exclusivity. And with a $600 a table minimum, it’s the choice spot for high rollers and their entourage.
With a DJ as a founding partner, it’s no surprise that the music at Fly is always top-notch. Chuck Koch, a.k.a. “DJ Dirty Hands” is well known in his native city and can be found at the cockpit of Fly nearly every Saturday night. Typical play list features a mix of classics, hip-hop, and every now and then a good oldie.
Although a table reservation is not required for entry, the space is small and attendance is kept at a reasonable level. So dress well and expect to wait in line. And if you are a group of guys without a reservation, forget about it.

At first I saw how much it costs for the bottles, but I guess it's about as expensive as a big night out when you split the alcohol six ways. I'll have to check out Fly Lounge. Thanks for the review.
the inside looks really cool

I loved it the first time, now I don't know what's up...Sometimes we get in early and its fine sometimes we get there and its early and then we are there later and THEN its better---confusing. Sometimes I've gotten in with a guy, then the next time they act funny, then I bring girls and they let us in no problem at all, the next time they say there is a TWO bottle minimum--which is not what they said the other time or what they said the next time after.....We lied and said we were getting two bottles and got in once and regretted it because it was beyond packed by 1130. You couldn't move dance or breathe. Its always packed. Dirty hands is hot, but...
