Living Outside the City: Lots to do without spending a fortune

No need to spend an arm and a leg for a 400 sq/ft studio in the city when on the outskirts you wager only a foot. Elan, Bristol at Fairchase, and Camden are a few of the brand new apartment complexes in Fairfax County paving the way for urban living outside the city. Modern condominium like floor plans and stylish lofts are making their way to the suburbs to keep locals local.
Fairfax County’s recent outburst of city like living, however, is an attraction, and is a far cry from the hustle and bustle of the city streets. Gaining night life notoriety just around the corner from the developing communities is Fairfax Corner. Located off route 29, the brilliant shopping strip has in town folk staying local for their night life rendezvous. Most restaurants in the area attract clientele with their festively lit outdoor seating ideal for warm summer nights out. Coastal Flats’ classic seafood dishes draw crowds on their own. However, their rendition of a Caribbean cruise deck has suburbanites flocking, Corona in hand, to their patio every night of the week.
Comparable to downtown Clarendon, city style living plans are only growing for commercial and residential properties throughout the county. Reston Town Center has some stepping up to do. Once famed for their unique city like atmosphere, they are no longer at the top of the charts. Fairfax has made a new name for city living in the suburbs.

I think that younger people want to be closer to the city. Maybe the outskirts are better for older people.
