That's right, Beckham dined out at Sequoia's in full view of a city that filled RFK stadium just to see the injured player hobble onto the field. One might feel sorry for America's new acquisition as he tried to eat dinner with friends, including former Olympic star Kobe Jones, while being inundated with requests for photo ops. Thankfully he took the attention in stride and even smiled when Lisa Audi, Kelly Caraway, and Kelly Price asked him for a photo.

"He was really nice about it. We were asked not to bother him by the bouncers, but we just couldn't resist", said Lisa Audi. "I think we got there just in time because after we got our picture the bouncers shooed the mob of girls away and let him eat in peace". Read more »

The Pittsburgh Penguins are no more thanks to the Ottawa Senators. The Senators eliminated Pittsburgh from the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Thursday night with a 3-0 victory in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The Senators mix of grit and toughness paid off as they manhandled Pittsburgh to win the best of seven series four games to one. The most logical transition for DC sports fans would be to pro hoops, where the upstart Wizards were primed to pry the Southeast Division Title away from the ailing Miami Heat. The defending champs were prone after their heart-and-soul player, Dwayne Wade, went down with a dislocated shoulder. The Caps wrap up their 2006-2007 season this afternoon against the Buffalo Sabres at the Verizon Center. The Capitals need to record one point tonight to finish with more points than last season (70). The Capitals come into tonight’s game riding a three game winning streak, their first since the first week of January. The Caps are coming off an impressive 3-2 road victory in Atlanta on Wednesday night. Alex Ovechkin netted two goals against the Thrashers and was named NHL.com’s first star. Today fans could be treated to a milestone as Ovechkin is just two goals shy of 100 for his career, and 2 points shy of 200 points. The Capitals start the last week of their season tonight at the Verizon Center in a match-up versus the Florida Panthers. The Capitals have lost their last six games coming into tonight. A win against their division foes in front of the home crowd on fan appreciation week would give the Caps some momentum heading into their final two games of the season. The Caps are 2-3-2 against Florida this season. The last time the Caps hit the ice was in Tampa on Saturday night, the Caps lost to the Lightning 5-2.
